From the Archives: Courier Express – How the West Side was Won

This year marks the first of collaboration between the Buffalo Architecture Foundation and Garden Walk Buffalo.  Visitors will be able to hear select properties’ Building (or Garden) Stories.   Flynn Battaglia Architects’ Peter Flynn is a participant, showcasing a brief history of his ownership of a home on Whitney Place.  Peter and wife Jackie were featured in a 1978 Courier Express article about a new wave of pioneers rehabbing the west side.  Their submission includes this article and before and after images.   The Garden Walk is this Saturday and Sunday from 10AM to 4PM.   Check out all of the Building (or Garden) Stories at buffaloarchitecture.org.
