Daemen College purchased the former Snyder YMCA building in 2014 and selected Flynn Battaglia Architects to be the architect for the transformation of the building into the new Academic & Wellness Center. The project included the renovation of the existing gymnasium, design of a new state of the art fitness center, new locker rooms and a control area to support the Division II NCAA athletics program. The facility integrates new ADA access to four different floor levels on the facility as well as including new insulation and exterior cladding to completely reimage the building. The building includes teaching areas, labs for instruction as well as a fitness center. The new entrance to the building creates a strong pedestrian connection to the rest of campus across Main Street.
